Athletics is a dynamic vehicle for educating young men and women and helping to develop lifelong skills such as sportsmanship, fair play, accountability, the ability to work with others effectively, the ability to lead others in a positive manner, the ability to perform at his or her best in competitive situations, and the ability to enjoy athletic activities. Participation in school athletics also provides a foundation for a lifetime appreciation of and commitment to personal fitness.
Villanova Athletics are guided by the belief that faith and community must come first and that participation in athletics must be accompanied by excellence in the classroom. Villanova College is a member of the Conference of Independent School Athletic Association (“CISAA"), which embraces the philosophy that competitive athletic programs balance the excellent academic tradition of its member schools.
The Villanova Athletic Program offers multiple sports during all three sport seasons, for male and female athletes at the Upper and Middle School level. The focus of our athletic programs varies by the age of the student. At all levels, developing a spirit of teamwork, sportsmanship, and fair play by all student-athletes and coaches is essential. At all times, players, coaches, and spectators must treat officials and opponents with respect.
We are proud of all our athletes who train hard and compete to the best of their individual abilities. We have celebrated a number of league and provincial championships in which individuals and teams combine hard work, talent, and teamwork.
