Construction Update - October 2024

The wonderful summer weather allowed for significant progress to be made as Project 2025 takes shape and the outer envelope is being completed in order to prepare for interior work and finishing to take place over the winter months.

As of September 15^th,  this progress has included:

• Structural steel completed
• South athletic centre entrance completed
• Stone bedding for ground level slab-on-grade completed
• Slab-on-grade concrete work completed
• Second floor coreslab work completed
• Blockwork for stairwell and elevator completed
• Elevator installation commenced
• Pre-cast cladding on south, east and north (theatre, dining hall, entrance) in place

Construction Update - July 2024

Our campus remains busier than ever as Project 2025 continues to move forward reaching some important milestones.
 
As of July 15^th, this progress has included:

• Removal of the precast wall at south entrance
• Installation of steel beam and canopy steel at south entrance
• Installation of stud work at roof and middle of curtain wall
• Hollow core sab at second level
• Structural steel installation - Phase 02 columns and beams
• Installation of roof deck for Phase 01

We continue to make good progress as evidenced by the latest time lapse footage captured in the video above. Since our last update we are happy to report that the south and east foundation walls and ground floor slab are now complete and steel columns are in place. We look forward to sharing our next update as we track Project 2025's progress out of the ground. Here We Grow Again!

Construction Update - February 2024

Project 2025 has seen a great deal of progress in January and February, and we are excited to show you the work that has been done through the time lapse photography (above) and photos (below). 

The weather has certainly enabled construction to move quickly with the milder winter we have experienced this year.  When work first began in November, the construction site changed a great deal.  We have had no construction delays to date, and we are pleased to share this update with you.  

• Demolition Completion – 1st mobilization: December 15, 2023

• Demolition Completion – 2nd mobilization (South Athletic Centre wall): January 30, 2024

• Bulk Excavation of Basement Area Start Date: January 08, 2024

• Bulk Excavation of Basement Area Completion Date: January 22, 2024

• Forming Contractor Mobilization Date: January 31, 2024

• Concrete Footings Start Date: February 01, 2024
