Bands & Choirs

The Intermediate Stage Band is an ensemble for keen musicians in grades 7 through 9. This group enjoys playing a variety of repertoire from concert band, jazz, pop and lyrical genres. They rehearse all year toward performing at the Christmas concert, Spring concert and festivals.

The Senior Jazz Band is made up of students from grades 10 to 12 and plays several styles of music including Swing, Funk, Salsa and Rock. Performance opportunities include Christmas and Spring Concerts and a year-end festival.

The Senior Concert Band is made up of students from grades 10-12. This group of dedicated musicians meets every Thursday night for a 2-hour rehearsal. We perform several times each year including the Christmas concert, the Spring concert and music festivals. One of the ensemble’s highlights is the bi-annual March Break Band trip, which gives members the opportunity to tour and perform in cities across North America. Previous destinations have included Montreal, Chicago and New York City.

The Senior Choir is a vocal ensemble for mixed voices in grades 8 through 12, rehearsing after school once a week. The ensemble keeps a busy schedule, performing at the Christmas and Spring concerts, prayer services, school masses, festivals, and special events.

VC Voices is Villanova's Middle School Girls Choir comprised of ladies from grades 4 through 8. The choir is a community of singers of all abilities and interests who come together in Unitas to learn vocal technique and expression through repertoire in a variety of languages and genres. The ensemble performs at the Christmas and Spring Concerts, and at the Ontario Vocal Festival.

The Boys Choir is an all-male middle school ensemble comprised of students from grades 4-8. The ensemble offers a welcoming space for young men to explore their voices through the rehearsal and performance of a variety of musical genres. The boys perform at the Christmas and Spring Concerts, and attend the York Region Music Alive Vocal Festival.
